During these uncertain times make sure the one thing your clients can be sure of is feeling safe and secure in their home.
We're living in uncertain times and as a result our stress levels are running high. Anything we can do to reduce this stress will be a benefit to us and there are many ways to do this.
From exercising to reading a book and sharing a meal with good friends.
There's another way that you as installers can benefit our community as well as your own family and friends. Make sure that they feel safe and secure in their own homes.
Below are 5 ways to keep your clients safe and the best part, they're cheap!
1. Trim and tidy
Make sure that bushes and shrubs do not provide hiding places for would-be burglars. Keep bushes by your gate and around your garden trimmed and tidy. If you do want to plant near doors and the entrance to your property, consider planting thorny, spiked and pain-inducing varieties.
2. Gate remotes in cars
A thief that breaks into cars can get hold of your gate remote, especially if your car is parked outside of your house. That way they have an easy getaway. Keep gate remotes and any keys inside your locked home.
3. Who's there?
When someone rings your intercom don't just open the gate without answering to check who is actually trying to gain access to your property. If you don't recognise the voice or aren't expecting guests, don't open. You could also consider installing a camera at the gate or a cheaper option would be to add a peephole if you have a fully clad gate.
4. Secure that sliding door
If you have sliding doors leading out to the verandah a simple wooden broom handle placed on the track will ensure that the doors can't be forced open from the outside.
5. Deadbolts on entry doors
34% of burglars come through the front door! Install a quality deadbolt for added protection.
